Nazia is a mental health advocate with a background in education and community project management. She has witnessed the stigma surrounding mental health first-hand. As a former primary school teacher and current school governor, she is dedicated to early intervention and culturally sensitive support. Nazia works to create safe spaces for women and young adults who are not yet ready to speak up.
Peter is an entrepreneur with over 40 years’ experience in running companies and serving on the boards of voluntary organisations and the NHS. He has worked as a Mental Health Act Manager for more than 20 years and is a passionate advocate for prevention in mental health. Peter believes that a healthy society must treat physical and mental health holistically and with cultural sensitivity.
A long-standing resident of Milton Keynes for over 40 years, Abdul has managed successful businesses while playing an active role in strengthening community connections. As the founder of the Milton Keynes Bangladeshi Association, he has championed cultural unity and inclusion. Abdul is passionate about tackling the stigma and language barriers that prevent people – especially within ethnically diverse communities – from seeking support.

Waqas serves as the elected Councillor for Bletchley Park Ward on Milton Keynes City Council and as Chair of the Labour Councillor Group. He is dedicated to strengthening community cohesion, championing local voices, and ensuring effective governance. Waqas also chairs the Milton Keynes Council of Faiths, fostering interfaith dialogue, mutual respect, and collaboration
Mohammed is a community advocate and councillor dedicated to ensuring that ethnically diverse communities have access to culturally sensitive mental health support. He works to raise awareness, challenge stigma, and promote collaboration between services and communities. Mohammed values the work of Unheard Voices in making a tangible difference and champions the belief that mental health matters for everyone.
With over 20 years of experience in youth and community services, Aysha has dedicated her career to supporting children, young people, and families. She currently works as a Mental Health Specialist with CNWL CAMHS and has held leadership roles in education and community engagement. As a City Councillor for Bletchley Park and Chair of Milton Keynes Unity, Aysha is committed to promoting inclusion, tackling stigma, and creating accessible spaces where diverse communities can thrive.
